A Checklist for Before and After You’ve Moved
Moving tips might seem evident but you may easily overlook them. Consider the following moving pieces of advice before and after you have moved.
• Take notes Take a note of your transportation registration number and carry it with you in case you have to call your transporter with questions about your transportation.
• Get the bed ready Choose one drawer of a dresser for towels and sheets so that you will have these essential things at hand and won’t look through all boxes to get them.
• Don’t forget about the Fridge When you have carefully cleaned and dried the interior of your fridge, take some baking soda or fresh coffee and put it into the stoking and leave it in the refrigerator to maintain the interior smelling fresh.
• Keep the Phone Book Keep your telephone book with you. You might need to call your former neighbors or businesses in that area.
• Pack Heavy – Pack Light Pack light things in big boxes and heavier things in smaller ones.
• Give out your Number Prior to the van foreman goes to your new home, provide him wit your phone number where he could reach you. You may also give him another contact number in case you are beyond the reach.
• Protect Your Memories If it is extremely rare, take it with you in the car. However, if you want to pack framed photos or paintings put the sheets of cloth or blankets between them for additional security.
• Know how to Pack Plates and Records Record albums and plates must be packed vertically and not put flat and piled.
